More about:

Radio Netherlands Worldwide looks back on 50 years of African independence with this special dossier. This week, we hear three generations of Somalia who think their country might have been better off under colonial rule. Seventeen countries will commemorate the events of 1960 this year, and we've selected 8 of them to take a closer look at what happened.

In the past weeks, we heard the stories of three Senegalese generations, the Congolese Mpela family, the Rabesons from Madagascar and a family of reflective Beninois. The Shaahus from Nigeria knew exactly what should happen to speed up development in their country. Last week, we featured the Coulibaly family from Mali.
